El gobernador socialista de la provincia de Santa Fe, Hermes Binner, apareció en el sondeo como el candidato opositor mejor posicionado con un 11,6 por ciento, poco más de 1 punto porcentual por encima de lo obtenido en las primarias.
Binner, una figura emergente que podría convertirse en el líder de la fragmentada oposición argentina según analistas, relegó al legislador Ricardo Alfonsín, con un 7,5 por ciento de las preferencias; y al ex presidente Eduardo Duhalde, con un 4,5 por ciento.
Alfonsín, candidato presidencial por la centrista Unión Cívica Radical, y Duhalde, un líder peronista opuesto a las políticas intervencionistas de Fernández, habían empatado en el segundo puesto en las primarias de agosto, con poco más del 12 por ciento.
Según las reglas electorales argentinas, para evitar competir en una segunda ronda, un candidato necesita obtener el 45 por ciento de los votos válidos, o al menos el 40 por ciento y una ventaja de 10 puntos respecto de su contendiente más cercano.
El sondeo, realizado entre el 2 y el 6 de septiembre entre 2.031 personas, tiene un margen de error de más/menos 3,1 puntos porcentuales.
