SAN FRANCISCO, EEUU - Apple Inc parece estar en camino de presentar la próxima semana el nuevo y muy esperado modelo de su teléfono inteligente iPhone que, según analistas, tendrá una pantalla más grande y un mejor desempeño
en el uso de servicios de computación a distancia.
Apple convocó el martes a una rueda de prensa bajo el nombre "Hablemos del iPhone" que se realizará en su sede de Cupertino, en Californía. Algo inusual considerando que usualmente la empresa presenta sus productos nuevos en lugares más grandes, como San Francisco.
La invitación no daba más detalles y un portavoz de Apple dijo que no entregaría más información.
El nuevo iPhone será el primer gran lanzamiento de productos de Apple desde que asumió el nuevo presidente ejecutivo, Tim Cook, tras la renuncia del fundador Steve Jobs el mes pasado.
No estaba claro si Jobs, quien ahora es el presidente del directorio, se subirá al escenario durante el evento.
"Se trata del iPhone 5", dijo sobre la convocatoria Mark McKechnie, analista de ThinkEquity.
